DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

DAVID RUELAS

David earned his Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine and Minor degree in Coaching from Pepperdine University in 2012. David has a long history in athletics playing football, lacrosse, rugby, soccer and basketball where he developed a passion for human movement as well as sympathy and an understanding of what it feels like being injured. This inspired him to pursue a career rehabilitating others so they could get back to what they love doing, improve their quality of life and prevent any injuries from reoccurring.

David enjoyed a career in coaching football and corporate real estate before ultimately deciding to pursue his true passion of physical therapy. He then spent many years broadening his knowledge as a lead exercise specialist.

David completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the top ranked University of Southern California in 2020. He gained an impressive amount of experience, working in a diverse range of clinical settings with the highest quality physical therapists and physicians. Among these includes working full time with Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Indians at their player development and training facility in Goodyear, Arizona. He has been in the physical therapy field for over 8 years rehabilitating patients all across the lifespan.

David is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who applies that knowledge to the more advanced stages of therapy. This is especially advantageous in preventing injury reoccurrence in the hopes that patients don’t get hurt again.

David focuses on a combined treatment approach of movement analysis, exercise prescription, manual therapy and patient centered care to create the most evidence-based practice possible, including staying current with state-of-the-art treatment such as Blood Flow Restriction (BFR).

In his free time, David enjoys being a “weekend warrior” playing sports on the weekends, weightlifting and spending time with his family.
